My name is Mitchell Brown and I am a stay-at-home dad. Throughout my life I have been many things, most notably a directionless goof. I have always tried, though, to learn the lessons that experience has to teach and to grow as a person. Occasionally, I have even succeeded. Now I have the indescribable privilege of staying home to raise my two daughters and the experiences are coming hard and fast, each swollen fat with moments from which to learn a bit more. I thought I better write them down before I forgot them or passed out. Come along if for no other reason than to laugh at me.

I would love to hear any of your thoughts, suggestions, gripes or disjointed rants. If you have one or all of those you would like to share, please email me at mwbrown35 (at) gmail (dot) com.

Mitchell…….Your dad forwarded your blog link on to us and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed every one of your posts. You write so beautifully, and humorously. You have a gift of genuinely expressing your most authentic self…..I am really impressed! You have the most important job in the world and your girls are so incredibly lucky to have you as their dad with your insight into energy, mindfulness, and allowing them to be who they are. BTW….I did print off your muffin recipe since I have a gluten intolerant daughter and will add this one to my collection. Jan and I enjoy traveling with your mom and dad and have had such fun!

    • Thank you, Patti. I appreciate you taking the time to read. I would agree that I have the most improtant job in the world, but I don’t know if the girls would agree all of the time at how lucky they are to have me around. 🙂 It is a joy to get to do (most of the time) and this project of reflecting on it has really added to the experience. Keep reading and I hope you all enjoy the muffins!

Mitchell – Count me in legion with your mom and wife regarding your writing. Not only in content, but in style as well, your writing makes for very enjoyable reading. I enjoyed reading your experiences and observations and could not help but wish that I had been able to spend as much time with my two daughters as you are with yours. What a blessing – enjoy the journey!! By the way, I could not agree with you more – your mom and dad are great role models. I consider myself fortunate to count them as treasured friends in my life. I look forward to future editions of the Thoughtful (and I might add insightful) Pop.

Hi Mitchell! I was recently nominated by a fellow blogger for the Reality Blog Award. I’m still new to blogging, so wasn’t quite sure what this was about, or how others feel about these types of nominations. But one of the parameters of the award is that I need to nominate blog authors whom I think deserve recognition and praise. You are certainly one of those authors. I have thoroughly enjoyed your blog, and have nominated you. You can check it out here: http://undeaddad.com/2013/01/10/the-reality-blog-award/
